This creamy sunscreen from Round Lab is infused with Aqua Ceramide complex which consists of a water-soluble ceramide to retain hydration and repair the skin barrier, and also prevent evaporation of moisture. Scent: It's hard to place, but to me it has a plant-based lotion type smell. I'm not a fan of the scent but it doesn't linger, which is nice because while it's not overwhelming or "perfumy", I tend to prefer non-scented or lightly fragranced products.
How it feels: it's thick and creamy, but not oily. In fact, it's a little on the drier side for my skin, so I can see why for some it might leave a white cast. I typically apply it after moisturizer anyway so it usually prevents that from happening.
PROS: This sunscreen is perfect if your skin tends to be oilier and prefer a matte finish. I like the fact that it contains Centella Asiatica and Houttuynia Cordata as they soothe and hydrate my skin. Their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties are not only beneficial against free radical damage, but they're also effective in calming and cooling your skin down from the redness and heat, which in the summer time can be so helpful.
At the end of the day after you've been out and about, your skin tends to build up more oil, dust, toxins, and pollutants on the surface, but I found that this sunscreen kept my skin pretty oil-free and matte all day. The protection from blue light also makes it ideal to wear this every day even when you're indoors. It's not heavy or greasy, so it's comfortable to wear.
The cream is thick and rich so it feels like it's covering my skin, but because it's not greasy, I can reapply throughout the day without discomfort. I think it does a very good job at shielding your barrier from the sun and heat. After a few hours outside in the sun, my face was not red or irritated. It's a very calming and soothing sunscreen, and there's no irritation or stinging around my eyes.
I like that it's a non-nano particle sunscreen so it's safe for our skin but still powerful against UV. It's also reef safe, so the next time you're headed to your tropical beach vacation that requires this, you can throw this in your luggage and already be prepared.
CONS: I don't particularly like the scent but it's not strong and doesn't linger after you apply it. After you blend it in, it disappears. I would probably skip this sunscreen during the winter months when my skin tends to be drier, as it already leaves your skin matte.
In conclusion, I'm very impressed by Round Lab products, and this is another one that I would use again.
